Queer Eye has opened my eyes to what beauty means to me. They have captivated my attention for 3 straight seasons on Netflix and work with all walks of life to help build confidence from the inside-out. What I love about the Queer Eye family is that they don't always focus on fitness. This approach captures my curiosity, because the first thing I focus on IS fitness. What's interesting to me is that both Embody Fitness and Queer Eye's primary objective is to build confidence. So at the end of the day, there are a variety of approaches you can implement to build confidence outside of the gym. Since it's bikini season, let's focus on how you can boost your fabulousness that doesn't include working out!
- FASHION: Having a stunning swimsuit that YOU LOVE and feel FABULOUS in, can make your feel confident in a second! Fashion is a multi-billion dollar industry for a reason. We all want to feel sexy and attractive, even if we are outside soaking up the sun. Now don't start with the excuses about how expensive swimsuits are...there are plenty of shops you can explore that are cheap, cheap like Target, Cupshe, and ZAFUL. - BEAUTY: Throw on a bit of sparkle when you are heading to the beach! I don't typically wear a lot of makeup, but recently, I started wearing a tiny bit of mascara & lipgloss which has really up-leveled my look. I feel pretty when I take care of my skin and I love jazzing my face up with some shine. Couple this with a new hairdo or cut and boost your look to yield the confidence you want!
- MINDSET: When you feel down about yourself, the only thing that can change how you feel is YOU! Remind yourself that you are beautiful, no matter your curves. Practice gratitude towards yourself everyday and tell yourself how beautiful you are. Compliment yourself on taking steps towards a better body image from the inside-out. Practice self-love the same way you would give love to others. This step is just as important as all the other steps and should not be skipped!
