Marissa is all smiles and full of heart, but don’t let that fool ya, because she is also amazing in the gym! She is a part of the 200lb deadlift club and double under club, with no end in sight.
Marissa’s consistent workout routine in and out of the gym is also a reason why we are celebrating her this month! Not only has she made time to workout while being a mom of two, juggling work, and being a supportive wife, her determination to nutrition is undeniable.
It’s this compound effect that has yielded her results. Now she and confidently say that she has a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. Congrats again for setting an example for everyone around you Marissa! We love you and are so glad that you are a part of our team. <3

Occupation: B2B Technology Marketing
Hobbies/Interest: I enjoy exploring new restaurants with my husband, hanging out with my two littles ones (Abe – 3.5 yrs, Dot – 16 months), spending time with my family and friends, and working out at Embody!
Usual Class: Tues & Thurs @ 12pm
Favorite Exercise: It depends on the day! I like a variety of exercises, but feel most accomplished when lifting heavy, doing burpees, or doing V-ups on the TRX.
How long have you been working out? As a former college athlete (volleyball), working out and being coached has been a core part of my life since I was young, but as I’ve gotten older, I have not always made it a priority. I’ve been working out regularly at Embody two to three days a week for the past six months and am proud to have established a routine and made time for myself.
Why did you start working out at Embody Fitness? After having two kids, I was ready to focus on me and wanted someone to help push me and hold me accountable. I had a couple of friends who had trained with Lindsay, and after my first consultation, I knew she would push me mentally and physically, and I’d have some fun too!
What keeps you coming back? Lindsay and Josh push me to lift heavier and go harder than I would on my own, and I have loved establishing friendships with my regular workout buds!
How has working out changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness? I’m physically stronger and have better endurance, and I’m mentally checked in and am much more mindful about my nutrition choices.
Is there something you have done here that you never thought you could do? Since working out at Embody, I can do pull ups and feel significantly stronger in my core.
What motivates/inspires you? It has been great to workout with other moms who have young kids and are making fitness a priority in the crazy times of having little ones.
What goals have you achieved at Embody Fitness so far? I’m working out consistently, feeling strong, and making better food choices.
Any advice for new members? Show up. Sometimes the hardest part is just getting to the gym, but once you’re there, let Lindsay and Josh push you in ways you didn’t think you could be pushed!
